If it seems like the painting of this model is dragging on a bit, well it is... but only because I've finally got myself a new job, the interview and preparation and stuff was digging into my painting time, but now I'm hired, so will be able to relax a bit.
On to the Skaven model. Ive finished the whole of the spear/halberd (not sure what it is exactly) using what I'm hoping is some fairly successful NMM techniques (still learning how to get it realistic) so until I have painted the flames I'm not sure where exactly I will have the directional lighting effects on the model, so that will all be added near the end of painting. Hope you like what you see, I'm extremely happy so far, and it's nowhere near finished.
Welcome to Nova Miniatures, here I will be showing of the models I have painted that are, commission work, destined for ebay or just so well painted I have to show them off! Enjoy!

Skaven: Back to Warhammer Fantasy (Part 3)
Done even more work to the model. I started doing some of the Gold and chainmail on the lower areas of the body. I made the chainmail look dirty by adding many different shades of browns and a bit of green. the gold guards on the feet have also had some green shading added, which works better than the dark brown/black, since it is an area very open to dirt and wear. Ive also done the tail and feet, using some dwarf flesh, as well as some highlighting with a light touch of red.
I really feel the model is coming along well, so I'm going to put a lot of effort into painting it to the highest standard that I can, looking forward to getting to the lighting effects from the flames.

Skaven: Back to Warhammer Fantasy (Part 2)
As promised here is a quick update on the skaven model that I've started painting. I've washed all the areas of the model, asurmen blue on the red parts, ogryn flesh on the skin and banners, the rest of the model was washed with devlan mud.
Ive also, for now, finished the red robe, I'm not sure if I will highlight it any further, I may wait until I've finished the armour then come back to it. Id explain how I did the robe but to be honest dont think I could. I used a variety of mixes including reds, browns and orange. I may also add some freehand design to the edging, but that will be a final touch to the model.
C&C welcome.
